Abstract.- Nowadays, automotive electronic is interested in improving the performance, comfort and security in cars. A very important innovation in this field is the OBD-II system. It tracks and collects data from a set of sensors to know about the engine’s state. In this Project, an OBD-II based system is proposed to send information to a remote server. The transmission subsystem gets the data from sensors through the use of the OBD reader ELM327. An Arduino Mega 2560 is used for processing. It is able to read the data by using the obd.h library. Then, it sends that data to a remote server on Internet, the transmission uses the GPRS network. The reception subsystem is set in a remote server and includes: a service to read and decode the received data, a database, and a web interface to check the stored information. The tests showed a good operation in the solution, and therefore, the whole set of technologies could be used to work in new related projects.
