Abstract

Nowadays, the strategic efforts of companies are not only focusing on quality and productivity, development and security transcends its intellectual capital, infrastructure and operational assets, all this while maintaining environmental conservation, natural resources and the surrounding communities to reach sustainable production. The Termoesmeraldas Business Unit is focusing on the implementation of an Integrated Management System (IMS); and count now with a certified QMS in Esmeraldas One power plant, this we were motivated to intervene in the power plants of Manabí to extend QMS certification there. After the study and analysis of the various advantages and disadvantages of integrating the Systems of Quality Management, Environmental Management System and Management System Occupational Health and Safety, we determine the benefits generated by implementing an integrated system, the most important: will help us streamline efforts, resources, and costs for the management of the organization, facilitates the assimilation of concepts, use of management tools and significantly reduces the time to have a real implementation, ensuring quality in each of the stages. The immediate conclusion is about the feasibility of implementing this integration in our business unit, thus allowing to contribute to innovation, continuous improvement and learning not only the unit, but the entire company.
