Abstract: The geological cycle and all natural processes involved are the basis on which life develops and is the set of fundamental factors for the development ecosystem. Understanding this close correspondence between the geological and environmental factors, the distribution of plant species and their interaction is essential in preserving the environmental heritage. This study examined the correlation between the variables: geology, soil, altitude, average temperature, precipitation and slope in relation to the ecosystems along with the vegetation present in an area of 81 km² in Pululahua Volcanic Complex. This correlation was examined using software MaxEnt obtaining percentage contributions of each of the variables based on points of presence. Ecosystems and geological formations responded differently to each of the variables, but geology, soil and altitude proved to have the greatest significance in contributing to model and concluded that are generally more the important variables used in this study. The diversity of ecosystems and vegetation was significantly predicted with high percentages. These percentages vary matches from 61.05 to 74.16% for Ecosystems and from 61.21 to 70.43% for vegetation.
