Abstract

This titling project arises from the need of upgrading the drying system implemented in the Canton Ventanas, Los Rios province; which he presented some problems during operation, particularly with the grain handling system. The main objective of the project is to redesign the grain dryer, Senescyt TT-08-0001 Project, optimizing construction processes and costs through improvements that allow solve the problems presented in the initial prototype. The main technical parameters of grain dryers, and general characteristics of the implanted initial prototype, and the conditions of the project are discussed. A study from which the prototype field located in the Fertile Land Cooperative located in the province of Los Rios, canton Windows is done; analyzing civil engineering, mechanical system and drive system. The current status of installed prototype assessed. The redesign of the drive motion system and discharge system grain dryer is also performed; from the evaluation and selection of the most suitable alternative for each system, considering user requirements. An adequate solution within each component arises to implement the redesign, obtaining a prototype dryer repowered and functional. In addition to rules for the construction, installation and operation of the dryer step of each of the components from civil engineering to final implementation of this it is manifest. A cost study is done to properly quantify the amount of work and the actual cost of construction, installation and commissioning of the prototype dryer grains, upgrading from the original price of items that have not been subject of this redesign, indicating the necessary budget to implement the redesigned components and thus the final cost of the dryer. Finally, conclusions and recommendations of the project are presented.
