Abstract: Design of a Stanford robot with 6 degrees of freedom based on concurrent engineering and its respective rapid prototyping. The project begins with a historical overview of robotics and Stanford manipulator, followed by this theoretical framework, where the equations used for the characterization of manipulator kinematics and dynamically performed. Then, the mathematical model of the robot is performed by finding the kinematic equations, these are derivate and the dynamic equations of velocity and acceleration are founded, following, the same is commanded by respective Jacobians. Then, the robot is designed and all elements of the manipulator, a result, it is dimensioned having a first model of this arm and the prototype is performed. Finally, a chapter is dedicated to rapid prototyping of Stanford robot, this chapter includes images of the pieces and also an explanation of the process of assembling pieces presented for the final prototype. It is worth mentioning that being an experimental design, this handler does not have a specific function, and the primary objective is to provide a functional design that meets the 6 degrees of freedom and the specific configuration of the manipulator.
