Zusammenfassung: According to The Global Seismic Hazard Assessment Program (GSHAP) a large portion of the world's population is located in high seismic zones which the ground movements may cause both civilian and materials losses. For this reason in recent decades a variety of procedures have been developed to mitigate the effects of the earthquake in the structures. One of these procedures is the seismic base isolation. Our country is located in a high seismic zone; however seismic isolation procedures have not been developed and have not been implemented. Consequently, there is a need to simplify and conceptualize the structural analysis of base isolated buildings. Initially, in this work, the characteristics, properties and operation of the triple pendulum base isolators (TFPS), are described. Subsequent different methods of frame analysis with TFPS are presented. The methods include static and dynamic, linear and nonlinear analyses. Finally, as a practical case, some frames of the New Scientific Research and Postgraduate Center of ESPE University are selected. The frames are modeled and analyzed by each one of methods. Observations of the influence of the TFPS in the structural behavior are carried out. The results from the analysis are compared to understand the structural behavior of base isolated frames and assess the feasibility of applying one or other method.
