Abstract: Nowadays, a new type of machine that is built by combining the advantages of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) and electric excitation machine (EESM), called the Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Machine (HESM). Therefore, this machine is gaining greater importance day by day because it has easy control, low losses and works with smaller currents in the winding of excitation. The present project develops the parametric design and analysis of Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Machines of six and eight poles. Finite element method in two dimensions, is used to establish a comparison of the physical, magnetic and electrical results between these two machines. A parametric analysis is performed with the help of a graphical interface elaborated with structured programming in MATLAB. It establishes dimensions, materials, rotor shape, conductors, excitations and type of load are part of the Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Machines with Radial/Tangential flux (T/R HESM). With FEMM 2D, the electromagnetic analysis is performed and, with the help of the interface, data of voltages, torque, waveforms are obtained and thus the effect of armature reaction is verified. In addition, the synchronous reactance obtained by calculation methods is compared.
