Zusammenfassung: The most demanding users requirements have allowed the scientists to develop technologies that provide more speed, security and greater area coverage, being a critical sector the roads and the city streets. Due to these requirements and the necessity of safety roads through the rapid sending and receiving of messages that alerting drivers in case of disasters in the roads Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANET) technology has been developeded. The physical layer of this technology is collected in the IEEE 802.11p standard. The present final career Project was elaborated with the purpose of evaluates the physical layer of the IEEE 802.11p Standard for vehicular networks. The evaluation is reached through the analysis of the different physical layer blocks of the Standard such as: scrambler, convolutional encoder, data interleaving, modulation, OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) and the PPDU (Protocol Data Unit) frame construction for the transmitter side; and the respective inverse processes at the receiver. For the analysis, the transmitter and receiver are connected by an Additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) wireless channel. For the performance physical layer evaluation, the BER (Bit Error Rate) and PER (Packet Error Rate) with respects to SNR (Signal-Noise Ratio) are considered.
