Estudio de factibilidad de la técnica casing while drilling en el campo Auca-proyecto Shaya

Abstract

The present work aims to determine the feasibility of the implementation of the casing while drilling technique in the field Auca-Shaya Project, comparing this technique with a conventional drilling. In the introduction a brief description of the Auca field, the location of the field, the geology of the field, characteristics of the reservoirs, the characteristic of the oil and an introduction to the Shaya project is also made. The methodology describes conventional drilling along with operational problems that may occur, unconventional drilling as a solution to operational problems during conventional drilling, is explained by the casing while drilling technique, its advantages and disadvantages and the tools that use this technique on surface, background and run. In the results and discussion, the casing while drilling techniques are analyzed, such as fatigue, buckling, torque and drag, the type of bottom assembly to be used, the density of the drilling fluid and the type of casing with which the well would be drilled. In addition, an analysis is performed to determine which drilling parameters are the most optimal for drilling with the casing while drilling technique. Finally, a project sensitivity analysis is performed comparing conventional drilling and drilling with the casing while drilling technique applying the same drilling parameters and verifying that the technique represents savings in time and money.
