In this work, the evaluation of the efficiency of a pilot aerobic stabilization lagoon was developed as an alternative for the refinement of the existing primary treatment for the leachates produced in the controlled dump of San Miguel de los Bancos, reducing the concentration of polluting organic load. It was characterized the leachate at the entrance and exit of the pilot system for 4 months every 14 days with a retention time of 51 days. The leachate fed to the pilot lagoon reached a maximum concentration of BOD5 of 722 mg / L and COD of 1338 mg / L. After the treatment, the leachate presented a BOD5 of 9 mg / L and COD of 91 mg / L for the first sampling period, for the second period the values of BOD5 and COD were 62 mg / L and 294 mg / L respectively. Then the attached treatment reached a COD removal efficiency of 91.17% and in terms of BOD5 of 98.24%. In addition, the removal of fecal coliforms was 99.99% corroborating the good functioning of the treatment as a maturation lagoon. In addition, 15 physical-chemical parameters were analyzed to observe the contribution of the pilot system to the leachate quality.es_ES
