The present research project has the objective of numerical modeling of a high slope channel with variable roughness by applying the software Ansys CFX and compare with the results obtained in the OpenFOAM computational package, applying the methodology CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), validation and calibration of the model will be done with the results of the titling project (Haro and Jara, 2010). The implementation of CFD in the simulation of fluids has become an indispensable tool in order to evaluate the flow and create hydraulic designs that remain in optimum conditions in the course of time. In addition, Ansys CFX allows to analyze the interaction between the fluid with its surroundings, and to change geometry and hydraulic parameters quickly. The appropriate configuration will be established in Ansys CFX to obtain results that are closest to the reality of the phenomenon, taking into account computational resources. These configurations include: creation of geometry, meshing, fluid characteristics, solution and processing of results. Results are obtained between the physical model, Ansys CFX model and OpenFOAM model, establishing percentages of variation in draft, velocity and mechanical energy.es_ES
