Abstract: The present project consists of the simulations within an LTE (Long Term Evolution) network, considering the mobile terminal height and tilt variation, with the purpose of determining the impact that said parameters have within the network in terms of capacity and coverage. The simulations are presented in function of the SINR (Signal-to-Interference plus Noise Ratio), and the capacity, considering various MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) configurations. For the simulations development, the parameters described in the TR 36.873 recommendation (3D model for LTE) from the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) are taken into consideration. Said parameters include: carrier frequency; bandwidth; path loss model; distance between eNodeBs; as well as antennas’ power and gain. Two simulation tools are employed to carry out the simulations: ICS Designer, and Vienna LTE-A Downlink System Level Simulator.
