Migración de la red de Anillos Metropolitanos de Quito de la Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones CNT EP con tecnología DWDM

Abstract

In this project, the Quito Metropolitan Rings network of the CNT EP is migrated to DWDM technology with wavelengths of up to 100 Gbps. First, the topics regarding optical fiber, types of multiplexing and DWDM technology are reviewed, then the current network of Quito Metropolitan Rings of the CNT EP is described, where the need for an expansion is defined. The design of the network includes: the new topology, the number of services projected to the year 2021, module and card counting, optical calculation such as optical power budget and OSNR, as well as a migration plan that establishes the time and resources needed to migrate the mentioned network to this technology. A cost-benefit analysis is carried out that compares prices of manufacturers that meet the technical characteristics of the design and other criteria for the selection of a supplier, in order to determine the viability of the project.
