Zusammenfassung: Se realiza la modelación de crecidas para secciones específicas del río Machángara, que es parte del sistema hidrográfico del río Guayllabamba. Para el efecto se definen 3 escenarios de uso del suelo en la cuenca, que responden a las condiciones natural, actual y futura; la evaluación de la relación precipitación - escurrimiento se realiza mediante el programa HEC-HMS 3.1.0. Los hidrogramas de crecida se determinan a partir de hietogramas críticos de intensidades máximas que responden a recurrencias de 50, 100 y 200 años. En el cauce del río Machángara se tienen estructuras de paso con diferentes dimensiones y materiales, que afectan notablemente a los hidrogramas de crecida que transitan o se propagan, especialmente en el tramo comprendido entre El Recreo - El Trébol. La evaluación de las formas de las crecidas en el cauce se realiza mediante el programa hidráulico HEC-RAS 4.0. Como resultado del Proyecto de Titulación se definen los hidrogramas de entrada y salida para cada estructura de paso y además se generan los mapas de inundación, con períodos de retorno de 50, 100 y 200 años
