Zusammenfassung: En este trabajo se busca disminuir el consumo de combustible del caldero de aceite térmico utilizado como fuente de energía del reactor de la planta para la elaboración de resinas en la empresa PINTURAS CÓNDOR S.A. Con este propósito se diseñó e implemento un sistema para controlar y monitorear la temperatura del reactor y del caldero de aceite térmico, así como un control de fallas de este último. Para complementar el trabajo, se desarrollo una HMI para los operadores que provee tres formas o modos de operación: Manual, Semiautomático o Automático. Para el modo automático se definieron dos perfiles de temperatura: para resinas Alquídicas (AMSO50) y para resinas Poliéster (RPT00), que se toman como base para el control de la temperatura de procesos que requieren igual perfil. Pruebas realizadas demostraron una reducción del tiempo de proceso en un 30%, y con esto, la respectiva reducción del consumo de combustible. Además de cumplir con el objetivo planteado, se logró mejorar la calidad del producto gracias al control de temperatura implementado dando al operador seguridad y tiempo para realizar diversas actividades que anteriormente no podían ser cumplidas.
