Aplicación a la educación superior del Ecuador de un teorema de límite central para martingalas

Abstract

Resumen .- Aplicaciones concretas del concepto de martingala, así como de sus teoremas límites han sido poco desarrolladas, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo usar el Teorema del Límite Central (TLC) para martingalas y estudiar el comportamiento de la variable, titulación en carreras de tercer nivel en universidades y escuelas politécnicas del país. Mediante un correcto planteamiento de los datos se obtiene una martingala que representa el tiempo real esperado de estudios, dado el tiempo de duración oficial de la carrera de cada estudiante. Una vez aplicado el teorema se obtiene la distribución, media y varianza de la variable, esta última resulta de particular interés ya que puede ser vista como la brecha entre el tiempo que toma titularse y lo que realmente debería tomar, y puede ser utilizada para ranquear grupos de titulados por universidad, provincia, área de estudio o como sea requerido, teniendo así el potencial de convertirse en un indicador de calidad en la gestión de las universidades en cuanto a la titulación de sus estudiantes se refiere. Abstract .- Specific applications of martingale and their limit theorem have been poorly developed; this paper´s aim is to use the martingale’s Central Limit Theorem (CLT) and to study the behavior of chosen variable, titling in tertiary careers of higher education system in Ecuador. Through a correct approach to the data a martingale that represents the real-time expected of studies given the official-time of career’s duration of each student. Distribution, mean and variance od the variable are obtained whit the implementation of CLT, the last results interesting in our study because it can be seen as the gap between time taken in titling and time really should be employed. It can be used to classify groups of graduates, thus it has the potential to become a quality indicator in the management of universities as regards the titling of their students.
