Abstract.- The Santa Rosa Thermal Power Station has over 25 years old of operation in the country, has measurement and control systems with transistor cards technology, analog gauges and electromechanical components, which were conceived in different times and circumstances, currently having the disadvantage that many of them are doing their shelf life, causing short or medium term maintenance difficulties and affecting the availability and reliability indices of the Central. Therefore, the project aim is the design and implementation of a monitoring system to monitor system variables with each of the three generation turbines that comprise the Central, both local and remote. To meet this objective are used PLC’s, touch screens, inputs or outputs distributed and expansion modules for each generation turbines. In PLC programming acquisition and control algorithms are used in structured text, ladder and function blocks; also was designed local and remote visualization interfaces who worked on the basis of process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), prioritizing the elements that are most relevant to the operation of the turbine.
