Abstract .- For wastewater depuration with high pollutant loads, was launched the construction and performance of a pilot plug flow bioreactor, horizontal aerobic, with a support means PET (recycled of plastic bottles). In order to degrade the complex components of the organic matter a biological means or mature inoculum was used, from bacteria of Machangara´s river, stabilizing and feeding. So, synthetic water was used with whey for feeding the bioreactor with concentrations of chemical oxygen demand (COD) from 800 to 2100 [mg / L]. It was monitored at each stage of operation, with the different parameters, reaching their stabilization, determining removal efficiencies of organic matter of 62.2%, 85% and 94%, operating at 5.14, 6.01 and 8.01 hours and working with values of organic loads volumetric (LV) of 7.68, 6.19 and 4.61 [kg / day * m3] respectively, showing that, decreasing the load increases efficiency, obtaining maximum removal of organic matter from 97.3% the day (65), with a load Organic volume Lv = 9.85 [kg / day * m3]. After, with the sampling points the constant kinetic mass transfer k=0.02 [m/día] was calculated, which serves as a design parameter to real scale, and the load factor F/M=0.4, the same that tends to the value of extended aeration treatment. Finally, an analysis of the generated biomass in the reactor or between the support material was performed, giving a value of 11560 [mg / L], which is a higher value than the traditional systems, such as vertical aerobic reactors of activated sludge or in conventional treatments. |
