Abstract.- This project provides an analysis of the foundry process with phenolic urethane no-bake resins, through the study of the hardening characteristics of chemically bonded molding mixtures, analyzing the influence of several parameters of the resin system. In the first chapter a theoretical review about the casting process and its classification according to the nature of the mold is made. The second chapter contains information about phenolic urethane no-bake system and sand suitable for this process. In the third chapter defects associated with the use of casting resins are discussed: characteristics of defects, causes and possible solutions. The fourth chapter covers experimental tests, both sand as molding mixtures bonded with phenolic urethane no-bake binders to set hardening properties varying the content of the different components of the resin. The fifth chapter contents the analysis of parts obtained by casting through green and no-bake molding conducting a comparative analysis of the molding process and the surface quality. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are presented in the sixth chapter.
