Abstract .- This project presents an analysis of the six-story building, in which first a Linear Analysis is used for the structural design of the construction; and sequentially performing the structure is verified with the aid of a Nonlinear Static Analysis or NSP. Within the Linear Analysis, three-dimensional mathematical model of the structure develops with the software SAP2000 and with the model results beams and columns that make up the building are designed; The design takes into account the recommendations of ACI 318-08 code and the regulatory body NEC. NSP analysis is based on the methodology of plastic zones and is applied to a central portal in each principal direction of the structure. This analysis is performed with the software SAP2000, which uses the criteria FEMA 356 and ATC 40 codes for structural performance. Within the NSP, 20 models with different variations of plastic zones in each portico analyzes are performed. Finally the performance of the structure and the likely level of damage that may occur in the building, depending on the points of performance of all models made is verified.
