Abstract: In this project, a charger of a lithium ion polymer battery (LIPO) is implemented using two different energy sources: the power grid (150W) and a photovoltaic panel (50W), which operate in a switched way so that if the power grid provides power to the battery, the photovoltaic panel will not and vice versa. In this work, 3 search algorithms of the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of the photovoltaic panel are analyzed, simulated and implemented through the use of PSIM software. Modelling and simulation of the power converters used are made aiming to analyze the general system behavior and, at the same time, design the controllers which allow to properly regulate the variables involved.
