Estudio de factibilidad técnico de implementación de la arquitectura Wi-Fi Calling para la red móvil de la Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones E.P.

Abstract

This graduation project examines the technical feasibility of implementing the Wi-Fi Calling architecture in the National Telecommunications Corporation’s (CNT E.P.) mobile network. Initially describes the basic concepts behind Wi-Fi Calling, how it differs from OTT workflow model, prior solutions for mobiles networking, Wi-Fi Calling applications scenarios, and successful case studies in which operators have implemented this technology worldwide. Describes the current mobile network used by the National Telecommunications Corporation’s (CNT E.P.), including its various 3G and 4G networks, its MVNO service provider, and its functional components and equipment. It also describes the IMS network. It develops the description of the different various architectures needed for the Wi-Fi Calling solution. It also describes the selection criteria for the best alternative to the technical implementation, including the technical requirements for integrating CNT E.P. mobile network into the Wi-Fi Calling solution. In addition, the project scales the traffic flow of the Wi-Fi Calling architecture based on current throughput values for the mobile data network at CNT E.P. from current users that the operator has classified as active. This model includes a description of solutions proposed by different solution providers, the selection criteria for the optimal solution, and the requirements for the mobile terminals that support the solution.
