Abstract

This paper evaluates the competitive environment of the metalworking sector in the Metropolitan District of Quito, case "PROCESADORA S. A.". In chapter one, the necessity and importance of the study is detailed, then the theoretical basis, in the following chapter, the methodology used to reach the objectives is exposed through the application of the tools: the model of the five forces Competitive Porter and the PESTAL analysis. In the analysis of results chapter, the findings obtained from primary information sources are shown, through the interview model, surveys were carried out to the different representatives of the 34 metal-mechanic companies with similar characteristics to the base company of the research. Once they are members of FEDIMETAL, likewise, it is evident that more than 50% of the metalworking companies do not work with a well-defined strategic plan, confirming the need for this research, for which the representatives (leaders) of the different metalworking companies have a Based on solid information to formulate a competitive strategy that allows you to obtain a good position within the industry to take advantage of the opportunities detected and mitigate the threats (Fred, 2008), in the final two chapters are the conclusions and recommendations where it is detailed and suggested strategies.
