Propuesta de mejoramiento del rendimiento de la contenerización y recolección mecanizada de residuos sólidos en áreas urbanas del DMQ

Abstract

The present project is a bibliographic compilation and field work of the containerization system with mechanized lateral load collection in the Cotocollao route of the DMQ. "SWM Characterization Guide" CEPIS, divided into socioeconomic strata. The residential stratum generates 0.83 kg/peo*day, multiple 0.77 kg/peo*day and the commercial one 0.64 kg/peo.day, composed by high load of organic matter, papers, and plastics. Using "Indicators for the Management of the Public Cleaning Service" CEPIS, such as: people per container, washing performance, collection yield, inhabitants per collection team and kilograms collected per kilometer, generating a baseline of the service. The evaluations of the service of containerization, storage, collection and transport, washing and citizen perception, that make up the collection system, were done using checklists. In order to know the satisfaction of the user and the state, satisfaction was assessed with the "Rumiñahui Linking Project" model, with a "regular - bad" trend, with a predisposition to be improved with training and an increase in the collection rate. An economic - financial study was carried out calculating costs, determining the viability of the system with fixed and variable costs, operational expenses, depreciation and income, the study determined an approximate deficit of 598 USD / day.
