Resumen: The present work implements OFDMA and SC-FDMA simulations in order to obtain the PAPR of both access methods to evaluate and compare them numerically through CCDF (complementary cumulative distribution function). The simulation of both access techniques was performed in Matlab for different scenarios coming from the combination of the subcarrier size of the system (256, 512, 1024 and 2048) and modulation scheme (BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM and 64-QAM). Results show that the SC-FDMA temporal signal has lower PAPR than OFDMA. Comparing the two modes of SC-FDMA, IFDMA (Interleaved FDMA) has a lower PAPR than LFDMA (Localized FDMA). Results also evidence that the PAPR increases when the size of the subcarriers grows in the system, as well as at a higher level of modulation. Additionally, two special cases arise from the simulations: the PAPR of the BPSK modulation scheme is greater than QPSK; and, the sharp increase of the PAPR in IFDMA when the percentage of subcarriers use is minor than 100%.
