Abstract: The present investigation measures the relationship between leadership styles and the work environment of the staff that works in the headquarters of the Rumiñahui Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government (GADMUR), according to the process to which they belong. For this purpose, validated tools were used in the Ecuadorian context, and a quantitative correlation approach that starts from the measurement of two social phenomena and ends in the comparison of them. The importance of studying these two social phenomena lies in the increase in productivity that can be achieved by promoting the human factor. According to the results obtained, it can be seen that the leadership style takes shape according to the sociodemographic characteristics of the personnel, that is to say that the staff with age over 30 years, who has been working in the same company for more than five years. , and with family responsibilities they present a transactional leadership, unlike the personnel that do not have such characteristics and present a transformational leadership in majority and absence of leadership in minority. Regarding the work environment, the staff recognizes two levels, the post / group climate that can be improved by dealing with interpersonal relationships, and the organizational climate that has a regular range and can be improved by addressing the recognition of performance. Finally, the results in general show a direct relationship of transactional leadership to the levels and dimensions of the work environment.
Description: La presente investigación mide la relación de los estilos de liderazgo y el clima laboral del personal que labora en la oficina matriz del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal de Rumiñahui (GADMUR), de acuerdo al proceso al que pertenezcan. Para tal objeto se utilizó herramientas validadas en el contexto ecuatoriano, y un enfoque correlacional cuantitativo que parte de la medición de dos fenómenos sociales y termina en la comparación de los mismos. La importancia de estudiar estos dos fenómenos sociales radica en el aumento de la productividad que se puede conseguir al impulsar el factor humano. De acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos, se puede apreciar que el estilo de liderazgo toma forma en función de las características sociodemográficas del personal, es decir que el personal con edad superior a los 30 años, que lleva más de cinco años trabajando en la misma empresa, y con cargas familiares presentan un liderazgo transaccional, a diferencia del personal que no tiene tales características y presentan un liderazgo transformacional en mayoría y ausencia de liderazgo en minoría. En cuanto al clima laboral, el personal reconoce dos niveles, el clima de puesto/grupo que puede ser mejorada tratando las relaciones interpersonales, y el clima de la organización que tiene un rango regular y puede ser mejorada al tratar el reconocimiento al desempeño. Por último, los resultados en general muestran una relación directa del liderazgo transaccional a los niveles y dimensiones de clima laboral.
