Efecto del género sobre el acceso al empleo en el Ecuador, periodo 2007-2016

Abstract

The present research makes possible to demonstrate the complex relationship of the labor market and gender in Ecuador during the period 2007-2016; and it aims to propose public policies that seek to eradicate labor inequality by gender in the country. In order to achieve this objective, in the first instance, I have found the factors that favor the participation of women in the labor market. In the second instance, I have technically determined the effect of being a woman on the probability of having an adequate job, as well as I have established the profile of the employee in Ecuador and the profile of the woman employee. The econometric technique used in this research is the logistic regression model, applied to the information obtained by the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment, Underemployment 2007-2016 (ENEMDU) of the National Institute of Statistics and Census.
