In the present technical project, the simulation of an OFDM communication system is performed, in which the algorithms LS (Least Square) and MMSE (Minimum Mean-Square Error) are implemented for channel estimation. The OFDM system implemented consists of a transmitter, a receiver and a frequency selective channel with a Rayleigh distribution. Matlab App Designer has been used for the simulation of the described OFDM system. The channel estimate consists of finding the frequency response of the channel for each subcarrier. The importance of the channel estimation in OFDM systems is that in order to recover the transmitted bits the effect of the channel must be estimated and compensated in reception. In order to estimate the channel, it is necessary that previously in transmission pilot symbols have been sent in certain subcarriers. The subcarriers in which the pilot symbols are sent are known as pilot subcarriers. These subcarriers use a distribution when they are sent. In the present project the comb type and block type pilot distributions are used. The results of the simulation are presented by curves of the BER (Bit Error Rate) vs. Eb / No (energy per-bit to noise power spectral density ratio) and MSE (Mean Square Error) vs. Eb / No between the real channel and the estimated channel.es_ES
