Abstract: The interest in obtaining materials with new properties is a growing issue. For this reason, this work seeks to make a contribution to these current issues by synthesizing structures of barium titanate (TB) and hydroxyapatite (HAp), materials that have interesting properties such as biocompatibility, osteoconduction and optical and electrical properties that allow their application , mainly, in the biomedical area. In the present work, different structures of TB-HAp systems were synthesized. Core-shell systems, membranes and compact discs were prepared. These systems underwent structural, optical and electrical characterization and a comparison between each structure. The structural analysis gave us information about the morphology, composition, crystallinity and particle size of each system. The optical characterization was carried out by means of photoluminescence, in which the nanostructured membranes gave a more favorable response since a matrix of chitosan was used and this contributed to the luminescence, which opens several possibilities of applications in different fields, both in biomedicine as in electronic devices. On the other hand, the electrical analysis was done using complex impedance spectroscopy, where relevant results were observed in the compact discs, where very high values were obtained for the dielectric constant.
