Evaluación de la variabilidad de grupos taxonómicos a nivel familia en las comunidades de macroinvertebrados bentónicos en la cuenca del río Guayllabamba

Abstract

The present research shows a study on the variability of the structure and distribution of aquatic macroinvertebrates, associated with altitudinal variability and land use changes present in the Guayllabamba river basin, located in the province of Pichincha, Ecuador. For this purpose, the information from the historical database compiled by the Natural History Museum, Gustavo Orcés, V., of the National Polytechnic School, was depurated. Additionally, external information was collected of several biological research done on the study area, a total of 96 sampling points were collected, over the altitudinal range from 473 to 3988 m a.s.l., since 2011 to 2018. In the treatment of the information, 61 families of macroinvertebrates present in the study area were identified in altitudinal distribution maps and the variability of the functional feeding groups typical of different streams stretch of study area were determined.

With the geographical location of the sampling points and the land use classification supply by MAE-MAGAP (2015), an association was stablished between macroinvertebrates and land use category, classify by; Protected Area, Vegetation Cover, Agricultural/pasture and Urban Development. Through the use of contingency table in the SPSS program, the dataset was graphically summarized using the descriptive graphical statistical technique by Correspondence Analysis.
