Zusammenfassung: The objective of this research project was to analyze the spatial-temporal variability of EVI and its correlation with Global Atmospheric Index in the Ecuadorian moorland during the period 2001-2018. The results obtained included patterns that coincided with the rainy or dry seasons of the region. It was observed that the regions of the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes presented higher EVI values than in other regions. The trend analysis showed that 13.4% of the study area presented tendencies to decrease EVI values and these were mainly found in the eastern slopes of the Andes. The evaluation of the correlations between EVI and Global Atmospheric Index showed that the spectral response of vegetation responds to several climatic factors and not to a single atmospheric index. Finally, the results obtained showed an approach to the behavior of the moorland vegetation and it is expected that they can contribute to the sustainable management of the moorland, as well as raise concerns for developing future research in smaller study areas.
