Technifying the water resources for irrigation is a safe bet for effectiveness and sustainable use. The civil works’ technologies guarantee a return on investment, in terms of increasing the agricultural level of production and productivity. In addition, it is oriented towards eliminating the natural resource’s waste and obeys environmental guidelines; therefore, contributing to the conservation of water. This titling work proposes to solve the deficiencies of an empirical construction for irrigation. This is the irrigation water pipeline in the Salazar Gómez neighborhood, Sector 2, located the Puembo’s rural parish, in the northeast of the Pichincha province. This channel was built without technical direction, and in effect, it delivers an insufficient quantity of water despite the present availability. To determine the reasons for efficient operation, information gathering activities are carried out, such as: topographic survey, flow gauging, solid flow gauging and technical inspection of the irrigation system and land use. This information is reproduced in a numerical model in the EPANET software for calibration. From the calibration carried out it was concluded that: there is an obstruction due to the accumulation of sediments and air packages in the pipes, the permanent derivation of water is not guaranteed, no sediment is retained, there are no air management mechanisms in the tubes and the pipeline it does not have the capacity to drive the demand for the community. The communal members' request (See ANNEX 1) is a supply of 6 liters of water per second for 8 connections. Two hydraulic design alternatives were proposed that include: catchment works, pipe networks, air valves, distribution points and a variable of budgets. The two proposals are included in the same design of collection works since the same conditions and location are specified for these structures. The first alternative uses existing conduction and corrects its care by including a new branch of pipe. The second responds to these requirements with a completely new and technical design of the irrigation water network. The implementation of the design that the community members consider convenient will continuously and uniformly supply water to their crops. This project is expected to contribute into the socio-economic development of the Salazar Gómez neighborhood.es_ES
