Abstract: The earth's magnetic field is a very interesting physical magnitude since it influences many phenomena that occur on the planet. Similarly, the total electron content (TEC) is a physical parameter that quantifies the state of the earth's ionosphere and is related to the geomagnetic field since the field alters the behavior of the charged particles found in the ionosphere. Thus, in this work a model is implemented that allows the estimation of the equatorial geomagnetic field through the study of the total ionospheric electron content. For this purpose, ionospheric data provided by GPS satellites were used, first for the study of the TEC and later for the estimation of the equatorial geomagnetic field. Geomagnetic field data provided by terrestrial magnetometers were also used, which served to compare them with the results of the estimates found.
