Abstract

Generating equal participation of men and women in different stages is a constant issue on political agendas. However, despite the efforts, it is visible that women on a daily basis continue to face obstacles to enter the political environment or obtain positions of work with a high level of responsibility. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of female political participation on the economic growth of countries worldwide. To determine this effect, an economic model will be estimated for panel data with fixed effects, using the data obtained from the World Bank’s World Development Indicators database; which contains 18-year information for 164 countries. The results of the model show that female political participation has a positive and significant impact on economic growth.
