Descripción: Abstract: he internet of things has become one more part of the daily use of the human being, it collects and monitors a large amount of private information. Nowadays, the high demand for IoT devices has generated a major security problem, as there is no model or standard to follow regarding the proper and established use of a valid authentication mechanism for heterogeneous devices. The present work had as its main objective the analysis to identify the authentication mechanisms and their methods applied to different IoT devices. It was possible to carry out the analysis to identify the current state of the authentication mechanisms of the last 5 years and their challenges to implement them in heterogeneous IoT devices. It was concluded that if a standard for authentication mechanisms is not generated, the diversity and heterogeneity of authentication mechanisms will continue to increase, making the possibility of implementing an authentication mechanism in various heterogeneous devices very difficult. The first chapter describes the basic concepts of IoT systems, oriented to security and vulnerabilities present in these devices. The second chapter presents the methodology, the descriptive ancomparative analysis of the main authentication mechanisms. Finally, chapter 3 presents an analysis of the current state of IoT device authentication mechanisms, where the main challenges for the implementation of authentication mechanisms in heterogeneous devices are proposed.
