Description: The present project shows the simulation of microwave heating in closed-loop control for a microwave oven. The purpose of this degree work is to analyze the best option for the power delivered to the magnetron by the power electronics device. The design of two different topologies using electronic power devices is DC/DC and DC/AC. We must understand that the magnetron is in charge of converting the electric field and the magnetic field, supplied into electromagnetic waves which are emitted by an antenna, connected to a conduit, mostly rectangular, and reaches the object to proceed with the increase in temperature due to friction between dipolar molecules. The element starts to elevate its temperature because it has dipolar molecules and the electromagnetic waves move them producing friction. That phenomenon is called energy transformation. In this case, we transform Cinetic energy into Thermal energy. For the simulation, the software will be used allowing me to show the modeling of my plant composed of the object to be controlled, the modeling of the microwave oven, the power electronics, and the cascade arrangement of controllers for the efficient operation of the plant. The chosen parameters to control in the cascade system will be the current flowing through the magnetron, the power emitted by the magnetron, and the temperature of the object to be heated.
