Abstract .- The project involves the design and implementation of an automation system of two ovens that allow students of the Mechanical Engineering career understand the development and execution of heat treatment; the PLC is the main component in the oven´s control. In order to get a friendly and easy operation system with a local HMI touch screen included. Additionally, it has another alternative HMI based remote control developed in LabVIEW. Both systems communicate with the PLC via an Ethernet link that allows a coordinated but independent operation of the two interfaces. Furnaces for heat treatment can operate in ramp mode or multiple ramps (step), being necessary to configure the maximum temperature to be reached, the slope or heating rate and the time that the oven remains at the maximum temperature; in order to improve the monitoring the HMIs and control board have display elements and accidental opening of the doors is alerted through the use of magnetic switches.
