Abstract .- The reliability of a Distribution Substation is the efficiency of itself, it is the correct functioning. The level of efficiency is analyzed with a non conventional methodology. The first used method is HAZOP, which is one of structure tool in a systematic way that identifies potential dangers; its functioning is basic to the approach y does not make any assumptions. The second method is the FAILURE TREE, this method is a technical that uses factor as conditions that contributes to the catastrophic event, it identifies the unwanted event, this method organizes it in a logic way and it can be drawn.
