Estudio de factibilidad técnica para la implementación de un ISP con acceso inalámbrico para proporcionar servicios de Internet, voz, datos y video con QoS al cantón Chambo (provincia de Chimborazo).

Abstract

The project includes a feasibility study to address a specific requirement of GAD Municipal of Canton Chambo that is located in the province of Chimborazo. Such requirement establishes the need to have an internet service provider for residential and business users under some guidelines like wireless access, QoS enforcement, captive portals deployment and the design of a robust and fault tolerant infrastructure to provide web hosting services, DNS, email, and above all, access to the global network (worldwide web) or Internet. The project includes studies, engineering calculations and simulation of radio links between antenna towers owned by the GAD mentioned above. Therefore, the system would provide wireless coverage in both urban and rural areas of the Canton. On the other hand, the document also includes the hardware sizing and software selection for the mechanisms responsible for providing the mentioned services. Finally, there are a description and an elaboration of documents – forms and diagrams-, which the National Telecommunications Agency requires to give the authorization certificate. That authorization certificate will allow the GAD to act as an ISP legally constituted.
