Resumen: Before big seismic forces, the buildings will get in the nonlinear range, thus it is not right to suppose that the structures will suffer deformations inherent in an elastic behavior. Nowadays, in engineering it is known in a better way the behavior of the materials before big deformations, what brings to more complex mathematical models that reflect more accurately the behavior of structures before large external excitations (earthquakes). In that sense, this research aims to correlate the nonlinear analysis between the Plastic Zones Method and the Fibers Method (In a defined essential structure), by performing a nonlinear analysis NSP (Nonlinear-Static-Pushover) through the TCL language, applied in OpenSees. Twenty two combinations of the essential structure were modeled, in which the length of the mechanism of energy dissipation (mathematically represented by a fiber segment) varies, with the purpose of obtain the capacity curves and the performance point, according to the criteria of FEMA273, FEMA356 and ATC40.
