Aplicación de una metodología para el análisis de los efectos de malware en dispositivos móviles con sistema operativo Android en el Ecuador

Abstract

This project aims to apply a methodology for the analysis of malware that most affects mobile devices with Android operating system in Ecuador. This work reviews a malware analysis technique used by information security companies. Malware detection technologies used by anti-virus tools are also reviewed. A ranking of the malware that most frequently attacks mobile devices in Ecuador is obtained and a malware analysis technique, which includes static and dynamic analysis, is applied on four samples of this ranking. Three antivirus tools are evaluated against the analyzed samples. Results of malware analysis are presented, which indicate the effects of malware on the device and the information of the user that is compromised. Results of anti-virus software behavior against malware samples are also presented.
