Catálogo digital de software para personas con discapacidad intelectual

Abstract

There are websites and catalogs that promote learning applications for people with disabilities, but the access is difficult. The applications are not categorized, they are listed. Furthermore, these websites do not exist in Ecuador. The objective of this project was to develop an easy-to-use digital catalog for therapists. Systematic reviews were conducted to identify websites and catalogs of intellectual disabilities, from which characteristics and needs were found. Also, therapists provided functional and non-functional requirements. With the information, the catalog was implemented combining the 5 planes of the User Experience and prototyping methods. To include the applications in the catalog, a systematic review was made and the applications were evaluated with the Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS). With the characteristics found, it was specified that the catalog will be a developer and promoter catalog. The access was limited to three clicks and feedback was included in the questions and comments of the applications. The categorization of the catalog was defined by the type of disability and all the included applications have a good quality according to MARS. In conclusion, the catalog is simple, intuitive and usable. It was validated by the therapists of Instituto de Educación Especial del Sur and it was considered a very useful website for the search of inclusive applications.
