Incremento de la productividad en la planta de tratamiento de desechos hospitalarios del relleno sanitario del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito mediante la aplicación de lean production

Abstract

This project deals with the lean production systems (Lean Production), as well as the main methods to

carry out the process of improvement of a process, it identifies the tools that help to eliminate all the

unnecessary steps that do not give value to the process, waste from all areas, both operational and

administrative. Each of the activities of the treatment process of the hospital waste plant was analyzed,

from the entry of the vans to the facilities, to the final disposal, to identify the different types of waste,

be it: Muda, Muri or Mura. Through the VSM, the flow of material and information of the current

process is determined, the activities that do not add value are identified, for the reduction of waste or

elimination of the activities that do not generate value to the process, lean tools such as the 5'S were

used, in order to have a more efficient and systematized operation where the operators are more

efficient, with the use of production and transport Kanban cards, to organize the treatment process

and develop a JIT system, with the help of Poka Yoke technology and good planning of maintenance

TPM.
