Abstract

The project found in the report deals with the design and mechanical construction of a vending machine for handmade masks to offer them through the machine in the Museum of the City (Quito), the project is requested and financed by the United Nations Program United Nations for Development (UNDP). The construction of the machine is governed by technical standards such as: the AWG (American Wire Gauge) for the selection of wiring, the NEC (Ecuadorian Construction Standard) which governs minimum safety and quality requirements in stages of construction processes, such as also the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) that allows design and engineering processes to speak the same language in manufacturing, testing and certification of electrical and electronic products; Based on this, these materials must be resistant to provide security to the product that is offered, as well as must resist internal and external environments, another technical standard is the dimensioning, depending on the product to be offered, the machine must have a storage volume capable of support the continuous demand of at least three days, a third technical criterion is the location of the devices since they must be in a position of easy access for people from 12 years of age onwards and finally, according to the regulations, the presentation and guarantees that it must have for the user and the product that it is going to offer.
