Desarrollo de un sistema para la gestión estudiantil del I.E.F Miguel de Santiago : desarrollo de la aplicación móvil

Abstract

The fiscal educational institution "Miguel de Santiago"" requires an update for its student management system, since its system is implemented with old software that is currently not user friendly. A Student Management System is necessary in any educational institution to be able to keep a correct control of the students enrolled in it and their academic performance. Said system must adapt to current hardware and software tools and, in addition, be scalable over time to meet the needs of future users. For this reason the present Curricular Integration Work has been developed. Which contemplates the mobile component of the student management system of the fiscal educational institution "Miguel de Santiago". The application allows users to have real-time control of the grades of each subject assigned to them. The system considers three types of users: teacher, student and secretary. However, the mobile component developed in this project only allows access by teacher and student users, since the secretary-type user must perform administrative activities that are adequately controlled in the web component. The mobile application is divided into a series of modules, of which 3 are the most important: the grade management and visualization module, the personal user profile module, and the academic reports module. With which teachers and students access similar interfaces but with specific permissions depending on the type of user. This document is structured in 5 sections. The first section exposes the existing problems regarding the need to update the old management system of the school, based on this, the objectives, scope and theoretical framework of the project are established. The second section shows the guiding methodology for the development of the mobile application, prototypes, architecture and development tools. The third section shows each sprint of the development methodology with its respective results. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations obtained throughout the development of the project are presented, which provides a complete vision of the results obtained and the possible improvements to be implemented in the future.
