Desarrollo de un sistema de geolocalización web de rutas de transporte para los estudiantes de la EPN

Abstract

In the present integrating project, a system of geolocation of transport routes for students of the School of Systems Engineering of the Escuela Politécnica Nacional (FIS-EPN) was developed. A description of the internal transport service of the Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN) was made, which allowed obtaining a reference for the problem statement and giving a solution proposal so that the students of the FIS-EPN could have geographic information about the Transportation routes referring to the place of housing of the students of the FIS-EPN. The system works with geographic data using information from the internal transport routes of the EPN and the housing data of the students of the FIS-EPN. The information managed in the system is stored in the geographic database, in the system students can be created, student's home addresses, this managed by user profiles defined in the system. The system also shows a geographical map of the housing data entered in combination with the transport routes. The system is developed with php language connected to a postgres database. For the integration of geographic data tools such as Postgres, Postgis, ArcGIS, Qgis, Geoserver and Geoexplorer were used, these tools were used to result in a map with the transportation routes and housing of the students of the FIS-EPN. In the final part, website load tests and the map viewer were carried out, as well as a final user survey of students of the FIS-EPN on functionality, usability, appearance and user satisfaction after using the developed web system.
