Modelación numérica tridimensional del medidor de caudal tipo Palmer-Bowlus aplicando el programa Flow 3D

Abstract

The Palmer-Bowlus flume was design in 1936 and it is a variation of the Venturi flume used in sewer systems where it is not possible modified the invert of the sewer pipe, in the market we can buy Palmer-Bowlus flumes as one piece structure that came with it discharge curve but this flumes have a cost and this cost increment the cost of the sewer system. Taking in to account the physical model did by (Torres & Vásquez, 2010), we make a three dimensional model, we calibrate the model and obtain the methodology need it to obtain the rating curves of four Palmer-Bowlus flumes, we chose the pipe diameter base in the information provided by the EPMAPS that information is the sewer systems in the Quito city.
