Desarrollo de un prototipo de aplicación móvil de un taller mecánico para la gestión del mantenimiento preventivo vehicular

Abstract

The Quito’s municipality in their ordinance 203 article II.375 mentions that; "The vehicles must make a technical inspection once a year and commercial vehicles twice a year." In this framework, The Automotriz CM Workshop performs services of preventive and corrective maintenance.

The Automotive Mechanical Workshop and customers do not have an automated tool or system that allows the management of vehicle maintenance. For this reason, this Degree Project focuses on the creation of a Mobile Application Prototype that allows maintenance management to both the Mechanical Workshop and customers.

The software made with a three-layer architecture, the data layer with MySQL; the business layer developed in PHP language will implement the web service hosted in AWS Cloud Computing; the presentation layer developed in Java language. Essential functionalities of the Software: customer management, mechanics management, vehicles management, appointment scheduling, creation of reports, and sending notifications.

Chapter I describes the concepts of the tools and technologies used in the development of the Degree Project. In Chapter II, the development methodology used is detailed, as well as the implementation of each layer of the Prototype. Chapter III presents the results of the prototype implementation once it is fully functional. Finally, Chapter IV presents the Conclusions and Recommendations.
