Desarrollo de un sistema web y aplicación móvil informativa de rutas de transporte estudiantil de la EPN

Abstract

The Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN) offers a student transport service to students and administrative staff, thus facilitating the mobilization with a total of 8 routes that cover the north, center and south of the city including the valleys. In this sense, EPN did not have an application that would allow it to present detailed information about routes, schedules, and drivers. This leads to this information being presented through billboards, social networks, mail, and the institutional web, generating ignorance and lack of use of the service. Nowadays it is of vital importance the use of technology since it allows to access, to automate processes and to provide information in real time. For this reason, a Web System and Mobile Application has been developed to provide the entire polytechnic community with detailed, real-time information on routes, including schedules, stops and trajectories.
