Título: Estudio de una red IP/MPLS para agregar servicios de televisión IP en operadoras telefónicas fijas tradicionales para usuarios residenciales mediante tecnologías XDSL para ciudad de Quito

Resumen: El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar las tecnologías para el transporte de servicios de televisión IP sobre una red IP/MPLS en operadoras fijas tradicionales para usuarios residenciales de la ciudad de Quito que poseen tecnologías XDSL en su última milla. Al inicio de este trabajo, se realizó una descripción general de la tecnología IPTV, esta tecnología se ha obtenido gracias a la evolución en el equipamiento de las redes y puede ser transportada a través de una red IP/MPLS, la cual, está diseñada para operar sobre cualquier tecnología en el nivel de enlace y es compatible con la tecnología actual de la operadora fija facilitando así su migración. Se describieron los servicios de IPTV que pueden ser brindados a los clientes residenciales tales como, televisión bajo demanda, time shift tv, video bajo demanda, pague por ver, radio y música por suscripción; además, se citaron los requerimientos mínimos necesarios que debe poseer la operadora fija tradicional para poder brindar estos servicios. Se cálculo el ancho de banda mínimo que necesita la red IP/MPLS para brindar los servicios de IPTV a un segmento de la población de Quito de 60000 usuarios en su segundo año cuyo valor fue de 162.163Gbps. Además, se dedujo el ancho de banda mínimo que debe soportar la tecnología de última milla de la operadora fija obteniendo un valor de 11.064Mbps hacia el cliente residencial. Se describió las características mínimas que deben poseer los equipos de la red IP/MPLS para soportar la trasmisión de servicios de IPTV; además, se indicó que la tecnología apta para la transmisión de IPTV desde el DSLAM hacia el usuario residencial es ADSL2+ a una distancia máxima de 1500 metros. Finalmente, se realizó un diseño de la red IP/MPLS, se indicaron características generales que deben poseer los equipos para la trasmisión de IPTV.
